Board Member Changes
John Orton has resigned from your Board of Directors due to personal reasons. John appreciated serving on the Board and we certainly appreciated John’s input, insight and creativeness. We’ll miss you John and thank you for your service.
Please welcome Roger Killin to your Board of Directors. Roger was one of seven candidates for your Board at our Branson Rally and is looking forward to serve the Club as best as he can.
Please welcome Louise Throne who has accepted the position of Membership Chairperson Assistant to take over the duties of Membership when your Membership Chairperson Gayle Sackett is unavailable.
Website
As you are aware, the website update is in progress and there are some areas of our website that are not functioning properly. One of these areas is affecting our ability to process all types Membership Applications.
Our Webmaster is working diligently on these issues to have them corrected by the end of next week.
Please be patient during this time.
Happy-n-Safe Travels -- Mike
Welcome to the President's Scroller.
To stop or slow down the Scroller place your curser over the Scroller contents.
Previous 2008 Scroller items can be found in the '2008 Rally Info'
Section, under 'Scroller Updates'.
As most you are aware Bigfoot Industries gave a Complimentary Membership to BOCI for 1-year to purchasers of new Bigfoot RV’s. With the closing of Bigfoot Industries those Complimentary Memberships are no longer financially supported. After many long discussions your Board has agreed to continue Complimentary Memberships.
The new terms of a Complimentary Membership will be for a 3 month period only for those who have purchased a new or used Bigfoot RV within the last 6 months and are new to the Bigfoot family.

Happy New Year BOCI!!!
Speaking on behalf of your Board of Directors, we hope you had a great holiday and your holiday travels were safe. Did Santa bring you all those nice toys for your rigs or that new dream rig? In our house he sure did! As some you know it’s been a long journey for us but just 3 days after Christmas our new 32 foot Motorhome arrived and we can’t wait to get on the road, but first things first.
I apologize that it’s been over a month since I’ve updated the scroller and the length of this message. I’ll keep it as brief as possible. Please keep in mind that the scroller may be updated more then once a month or longer than once a month depending on circumstances. If you feel it’s not being updated as frequently as you would like please let me know at mhenley@bigfootowners.com.
Our current website has been great but has developed some problems that do not allowed me to communicate with all members (current and past) in a timely and efficient manner using the Mass (Blast) E-mail function.
Our Webmaster in Canada has been working on these issues with not much success and has started working on a new, more user friendly version. It will also allow us the ability to manage many of the functions that currently only the webmaster can manage and in the long-run will save us time and money because we will be able to do many of the functions ourselves. Your Board has identified many areas of our website that need updating and will be working on these as soon as we have access.
Once this new website is ready our current site will need to be shutdown for the transition. If we can find a way without shutting down the current site before implementing the new site, we will.
This shutdown may take place in the next week or two (1/19 thru 1/31) and should only be down for a very short period.
Please tell your fellow BOCI members about this shutdown so they will not think our Club has folded.
Membership
Due to the issues with our current website we are extending the renewal period to March 31, 2009. If your membership is not renewed by April 1, 2009, it will be terminated. Please renew your membership NOW to avoid being dropped from our roster. Please remind your BOCI friends to renew if they haven’t yet.
Mark Holmes
Many of you already know the value of Mark, but for those that don’t, he has extensive wealth of knowledge and experience with all of the Bigfoot RV’s. He is a regular on forum page offering insights on issues we have with our rigs and some you already have contacted Mark via his new website: www.holmesonbigfoot.com. We greatly appreciate Mark setting up this service for us. Many members have offered to pay Mark for his services. Mark does not want to set any fees for his service but will accept donations. The amount of the donations is up to you based on the value you feel you received.
2009 Rally
Our rally this year will be at the Garden of the Gods Campground in Colorado Springs September 13th through 18th. We are making progress on the details and should have a notice out shortly. We have made arrangements with the campground to offer the same rates for 1 week prior or 1 week after our rally week, so think about coming early, staying later or both.
I know some of you had contacted me at the end of our rally in Branson and offered assistance for this year. I would appreciate if you would contact me at mhenley@bigfootowners.com to remind me of your offer. There’s so many great things to do in this area that we need your assistance. Also, I would appreciate anyone else who wishes to volunteer their assistance to do so also.
I’ll be posting a new topic on the forum page; 2009 Rally soon.
In Closing
We’re still working on some old to new board member transitions and some details but we’re almost done. We couldn’t have completed the majority of these tasks without the support Jack & Elaine Willoughby, Jan Romero, Louise Throne & Ric Allen. They all gave us their attention and support (sometimes a push) as we needed it, thank you all.
The Club is vital link between its members to share information and offer assistance on our rigs and to have fun together at our rallies. We only have 1 Annual Rally each year and some mini-rallies once in a while. If you ever thought about setting up a mini-rally, why not do it this year. We can assist you by posting it on forum and in a scroller announcement.
