"When we joined BOCI, we mentioned
that we had recently purchased a Bigfoot Class B motor
home. You responded by saying that you were not familiar
with that model. You said some of the other members
might be interested and asked that we send pictures.
The unit is 19 feet and is fully outfitted.
It has a bath with shower. Also it has a propane stove
top, water heater and furnace and the refrigerator is
three-way as well. It has a booth/bed combination in
the back and four "captain's" chairs. The
two chairs behind the driver and passenger fold down
and by turning the driver and passenger seats partially
around, they make into a pair of single beds. There
is a roof air and a power vent that is controlled by
a thermostat, which is a feature we had never seen before.
It also has a 2.8 Onan generator, a full awning, and
even an outside shower. It has a microwave and a two
basin kitchen sink. Finally, there is even a built in
TV and DVD player.
We did do a little checking. We called
Bigfoot in Canada and inquired about the unit. The company
did build them in 1996 and 1997.
We also stopped by the Colorado Springs
Bigfoot dealer with our unit. That was fun. One of the
sales staff spotted it in the parking lot and asked
"Is that really a Bigfoot?" Before we knew
it, he was calling to others on the floor and there
was a parade out to look the van over. One fellow asked
if we would mind if he took some pictures. We said "no,
of course not", and before we knew it there were
people crawling all over in and out of it. The whole
incident was pretty amusing, and we met the whole sales
staff, the parts department personnel, and even a couple
of the service staff who emerged to take a gander at
it. The owner finally came out and said that he had
seen a few before, but had never had one "on the
floor to sell".
We have really enjoyed the machine so
far. What is has lacked in closet space it had made
up for in comfort and economy. Even with a 460 and a
3.55 differential, it still commonly makes 14-15 mpg.
Enough said!
